LSAT Jumpstart

Jumpstart LSAT. LSAT prep mini-camp

OVERVIEW

The LSAT Jumpstart program is a series of workshops hosted annually by the Pre-Law Advising Services office to support students' LSAT preparation. This program is primarily designed for students (and alumni) planning to sit for an LSAT in the upcoming 4-12 months. This program provides an excellent foundation to begin LSAT study and learn about various LSAT resources available to prospective law students.

2024 LSAT JUMPSTART

The 2024 LSAT Jumpstart is a virtual series consisting of four sessions, including a practice LSAT.

SESSION 1: LSAT OVERVIEW WITH LSAC

Tuesday, January 23, 2024
6:00 pm via Zoom

Prepare for test day by getting to know the LSAT. In this session, Katya Valasek, LSAC's Director of Prelaw Advising, will provide an overview of the LSAT, share information on LSAT support and resources available through LSAC, and provide details about the LSAT exam including administration, logistics, scoring, and a specific overview of each question type. Additionally, presenters will talk about the upcoming removal of the LSAT's Analytical Reasoning ("logic games") section and strategies for deciding which version of the LSAT to take.

This session is highly recommended for any individual planning to sit for an upcoming LSAT exam in the 2024-2025 testing cycle.

SESSION 2: READING COMPREHENSION WORKSHOP WITH BLUEPRINT

Tuesday, January 23, 2024
7:00 pm via Zoom

In this workshop, Patrick Moore of Blueprint will discuss the Reading Comprehension portion of the LSAT. The purpose of LSAT Reading Comprehension questions is to measure the ability to read, with understanding and insight, examples of lengthy and complex materials similar to those commonly encountered in law school.

SESSION 3: LOGICAL REASONING WORKSHOP WITH BLUEPRINT

Wednesday, January 24, 2024
6:00 pm via Zoom

In this workshop, Abigail Lo of Blueprint will discuss the Logical Reasoning portion of the LSAT. These questions are designed to evaluate your ability to examine, analyze, and critically evaluate arguments as they occur in ordinary language.

SESSION 4: ANALYTICAL REASONING ("LOGIC GAMES") WORKSHOP* WITH BLUEPRINT

Wednesday, January 24, 2024
7:00 pm via Zoom

In this workshop, Casey Yarborough of Blueprint will discuss the Analytical Reasoning portion of the exam. These questions are designed to assess your ability to consider a group of facts and rules, and, given those facts and rules, determine what could or must be true. These questions appear in sets, with each set based on a single passage.

*Note: The Analytical Reasoning workshop is recommended for those taking the LSAT in February, April, and/or June 2024. Analytical Reasoning is being removed from the LSAT beginning with the August 2024 test administration.
