LSAT Jumpstart



The LSAT Jumpstart program is a series of workshops hosted annually by the Pre-Law Advising Office to support students in their LSAT preparation. This program is primarily designed for students (and alumni) planning to sit for an LSAT in the upcoming 4-12 months. This program provides an excellent foundation to begin LSAT study and learn about various LSAT resources available to prospective law students.


2023 LSAT Jumpstart

The 2023 LSAT Jumpstart series consisted of four sessions*, including a practice LSAT hosted in partnership with Testmasters. The 2023 LSAT Jumpstart was hosted virtually. Read below for additional details on each session. 


*To achieve the full benefit of the program, we ask that individuals complete each session. Attendance/completion of Session 1 is required.

Session 1: LSAT Overview by LSAC

Prepare for test day by getting to know LSAT from the test creators themselves. During this session, Law School Admission Council (LSAC) Ambassador Jennifer O’Connor will provide an overview of LSAC, share information on LSAT support and resources available through LSAC, and details about the LSAT exam including administration, logistics, scoring, and a specific overview of each question type.  This session is highly recommended for any individual planning to sit for an upcoming LSAT exam in the 2023 testing cycle.


Session 2: Practice LSAT with Testmasters

A good way to prepare for the LSAT and to gauge where to focus your studying efforts is to take practice exams. Take advantage of the opportunity to take a complete, practice LSAT exam administered by Testmasters. At the conclusion of the exam, you will receive a score. This information will be useful as you create your study plan.

Session 3: Logic Games Workshop

The Analytical Reasoning (aka "Logic Games") section of the LSAT, is the section many test-takers tend to worry about the most. The key to success is having a strong strategy as you approach the problems. Join experts from Testmasters to learn about specific methods and strategies needed to succeed at this section of the test. 

Session 4: Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, and Peer Perspectives

Continue to sharpen your LSAT skills with this three-part, interactive workshop. With the guidance and support of experienced LSAT takers, you will work through practice problems and learn about peer strategies for approaching the exam's Reading Comprehension and Logical Reasoning sections. Then, hear from a panel of recent LSAT takers as they share their perspectives and tips for a successful LSAT experience.
